Boston Marathon To Give Official Medals to Tough Ruck Participants
January 2015/Lexington – Following the deadly Marathon bombings, military members with their Ruck sacks could no long take part in the marathon due to security reasons. But with the support of the BAA, military members pledged to continue their mission of walking 26.2 miles to honor their fallen brothers and sisters. In 2015, this Boston Marathon shadow Ruck – known as the tough Ruck – will take place in Concord, Mass the Saturday before the marathon. The finishers will be the first to receive the 2015 Boston Marathon medals upon completion of the course. The Ruckers must finish within 9 hours. More information is available at www.toughruck.org
