September 27, 2020/BOSTON – The last Sunday in September was designated as Gold Star Mother’s Day by a joint resolution of Congress in June of 1936.  The Office of Governor Charlie Baker will fly the Gold Star flag at the State House from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, September 27, 2020, in honor of Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day.

“The flying of the American Gold Star Flag at the State House on Sunday not only represents the support we as Mothers give to each other, our veterans and our communities, but also represents the support and respect bestowed upon us from our Commonwealth. While ours is membership no family ever wants, together we find healing and strength,” said Robin Abbott, President of the Massachusetts Gold Star Mothers.

Military Friends Foundation ‘Tough Ruck’ program was humbled to donate the Gold Star Flag to honor our Gold Star Families and the memories of their brave heroes.  This flag also flew over the State House in honor of Gold Star Wives Day.
