Registration Opens For Massachusetts Run For The Fallen 5K To Honor Local Fallen Heroes


Aug 15, 2019/DEDHAM –  Military Friends Foundation, a nonprofit that give direct support to local service members and families of the fallen in times of need, today announced that registration is open for the 2019 Massachusetts Run for the Fallen. This event takes place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9 AM to 1 PM at Barnes Memorial Park, 150 Eastern Ave., Dedham, Mass. The Massachusetts Run for the Fallen is 5K walk/run is dedicated to keeping alive the memory of military heroes that gave their lives to protect our freedoms since September 11, 2001.  “Runners, walkers and their supporters will come together again on September 19th to honor those Massachusetts service members who have given their lives to protect our nation since the September 11th attacks,” said Sarah Sweeney, Executive Director, Military Friends Foundation. “Our solemn purpose is to honor the memories of those we have lost, and provide love and support for the families they left behind.”

Massachusetts Run for the Fallen 5K Run/Walk is a Military Friends Foundation, 501(c)3 project dedicated to honor of every Massachusetts service member who has been killed-in-action or died on active duty since the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan began. Funds that are raised support programs that assist the families of the Fallen and aid in the healing process for Massachusetts residents whose lives have been affected by war. The event will include a family-friendly post-run BBQ with touch-a-truck, kids’ activities, military vehicle display and Wally the Green Monster will make an appearance. The event is rain or shine.
