Military Friends Foundation To Honor Navy Corpsman Meaghan Burns With Memorial Tough Ruck

South Deerfield – Tough Ruck, a project of Military Friends Foundation 501c3, is a group of military personnel, first-responders and civilians dedicated to keeping the memories of these Fallen Heroes alive and raising funds to immediately assist Massachusetts military families touch by sudden tragedy.

On May 4, Navy Corpsman Meaghan Elizabeth Burns, age 23, was the innocent victim of senseless gun violence in Portsmouth, Virginia while trying to help a friend. Burns enlisted in the Navy in 2015 and served as a Hospital Corpsman in Naples, Italy, before being stationed in Virginia. Her family recalls Meggy as a free spirit, a fierce and loyal friend and loving daughter and sister. She will be missed by many and loved forever.

Tough Ruck Memorial Ruck For Meaghan Burns

Tough Ruckers will also be taking part in a virtual Tough Ruck Memorial March on Monday, May 27th, as a final salute to the Corpsman whose Celebration of Life will be held that day. Each Tough Rucker will carry the Burn’s name on their rucksack.  The Tough Ruck Marathon to honor Fallen Heroes takes place annually on Patriots Day weekend in Concord, in conjunction with the Boston Athletic Association.
