Military Friends Gives Aid To Military Families Impacted by the Fall River Fire
FALL RIVER/January 2019 – On New Year’s Day flames ripped through the Four Winds Apartments in Fall River, MA. A car plowed through the building and hit a gas line which left more than 80 people homeless including local military families.
100 firefighters were called in to fight the blaze and today they remain on the scene. Demolition of the apartment complex was necessary to control the fire.
Military Friends Foundation is providing immediate support through its Crisis Response Grant program to help families purchase clothing and other basis needs, assist with lodging and housing placement. For information, please contact Military Friends Foundation at 1-84-HELP-VETS.
These grants are funded with support from the Military Friends Foundation Tough Ruck Marathon program, held in partnership with the Boston Athletic Association, donations made on Question 32E on the State Tax From (MA Military Family Relief Fund) and other generous donors. Several thousands of dollars have already been provided to families impacted by the devastation.
