Military Friends Host Memorial Day Salute To The Fallen
FALL RIVER/May 25, 2017 – On Friday, Gold Star Families from across the state will gather in Fall River at the state’s Gold Star Families Memorial to honor their loved ones. Governor Charlie Baker and state, local and military officials will join families for a ceremony of remembrance.
Gold Star Families will share stories about their Fallen Hero and the event will conclude with a salute to the Fallen by a Military, Police and Firefighter Honor Guard. Families will then have an opportunity to add their loved ones name to the a field of boots each, each displayed in memory of a Fallen Service Member.
The event is hosted by Military Friends Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency assistance, community support events, and to Massachusetts Gold Star Families of all eras, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Gold Star Mothers and Gold Star Wives organizations and the state Department of Veterans’ Services.
