Boston – 20 May 2013 | Gold Star Families gathered today at South Station for the re-dedication of the Gold Star Memorial Train.  The train, a project of the MBTA and the Mass. Bay Commuter Rail, is wrapped in blue and bears Gold Stars with the name of each service member killed in action in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The train has travelled to dozens of communities and serves a moving tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.  “Military Friends has been honored to support the MBTA/MBCR project since it’s inception in May 2012 and we commend Hugh Kiley and the whole MBCR for there commitment to our military families ,” said SGM Jim Kelly, President of the Military Friends Foundation.
