September 2016 – Smith and Wesson has partnered with Military Friends Foundation to award five Military Friends Patriot Scholarships to Massachusetts Gold Star Family Members.  “The students have exhibited strength and resilience in the face of great loss.  It is our honor to stand with Smith and Wesson to recognize our scholarship recipients academic accomplishments,” said SGM Jim Kelly, President of Military Friends Foundation and Iraq Combat Veteran.

Scholarships were awarded to:

Katrina Syrakos of Lynn, Gold Star Sister of SPC Antonia Syrakos

Jenelle Deforges of Ludlow, Gold Star Sister of SGT Joshua Deforges

Yarielis Bacerra of Dorchester, Gold Star Daughter of PVT Jose Mendez-Lasalle

Sydney Carreiro of Westport, Gold Star Sister of SGT Luke Carreiro
