Sgt. Timothy Wolfe

CHARLTON – Tough Ruck, a project of Military Friends Foundation 501c3, is a group of military personnel, first-responders and civilians dedicated to keeping the memories of these Fallen Heroes alive and raising funds to immediately assist Massachusetts military families touch by sudden tragedy.

On March 5, Sgt. Timothy Wolfe of Charlton, who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, lost his battle to the hidden wounds of war.  The Marine veteran is survived by his wife Lisa and children Zoey and Cody.  The Wolfe family will receive support through a grant from the Military Friends Foundation.

Tough Ruckers will also be taking part in a virtual Tough Ruck Memorial March on Monday, March 11, as a final salute to the combat veteran whose funeral will be held that day. Each Tough Rucker will carry the Wolfe’s name on their rucksack.  The Tough Ruck Marathon to honor Fallen Heroes takes place annually on Patriots Day weekend in Concord, in conjunction with the Boston Athletic Association.

“This support is amazing. You have no idea what it means to our family. I will be at Tough Ruck next year and every year,” said Ed Lavin, brother-in-law of Sgt. Wolfe and member of the Worcester Police Department.

All interested in joining the virtual Tough Ruck Memorial March are invited to download a printable bib HERE and ruck on anytime for any durations on Monday, March 5 in honor of Sgt. Wolfe.  Ruckers are encouraged to share photos for Tim’s family on the Facebook event here.

An official fund to support the Wolfe family has been established and donations can be made via https://www.gofundme.com/marine-with-ptsd-takes-life-leaves-wife-amp-daughter?fbclid=IwAR0X-i31o2CvFMk2x8qlIFBEDyBxVLQvAHkhUuSnQVmBFDnqtRTJTbjsHkk

All are encouraged to also support the benefit at Wormtown Brewery, a veteran friendly business at 75 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, that will be donating $1 for every pint sold in the next two weeks to the Wolfe family.  Wormtown Brewery held a benefit recently in support of the family of fallen Firefighter Christopher Roy.
